Services
Three Engagements.
Clear Scope. Written Outputs.
Each service is designed to address a specific governance or planning challenge. Fixed fees, defined timelines, and a document you can use independently when the engagement ends.
Back to HomeOur Methodology
How Each Engagement Is Structured
Every service follows the same general sequence: an initial scoping conversation to confirm fit, a written agreement setting out scope and fee, a fieldwork phase, internal review, and final delivery. The client has a clear view of each stage before the work begins.
The written deliverable is specific to the client company — not a template populated with details, but a document drafted from scratch based on what was observed or discussed. This takes longer to produce but results in something that is actually useful.
Scoping First
No work begins without a clear understanding of the engagement on both sides.
Written Agreement
Scope, deliverable, timeline, and fee are documented and signed before fieldwork starts.
Careful Fieldwork
Interviews and observations are conducted without rushing to conclusions in advance.
Reviewed Deliverable
All written outputs are internally reviewed before being shared with the client.
Service 01
Strategy Refresh for Family-Run Firms
A focused engagement for family-held companies considering how the next generation of leadership should be prepared. The work covers a written assessment of the current operating arrangement, a set of conversations with each family member involved in the business, and a draft of a transition plan.
This engagement is suited to family businesses that have not previously documented how leadership and ownership should pass, and where the conversation between family members has not yet been structured. It is not a legal document — it is a starting point for those conversations, informed by an independent reading of the situation.
What Is Included
- Written assessment of the current ownership and management arrangement
- Individual interviews with each family member in the business
- Draft transition plan with commentary on key decision points
- Closing session to present findings and discuss the document
Process Steps
Introductory call to confirm suitability and agree scope
Review of any existing governance documents provided by the client
Individual interviews with each family member (typically 45–60 min each)
Drafting of assessment and transition plan document
Internal review and delivery with closing walkthrough
Typical Timeline
3–5 weeks from first interview to delivery
Best Suited For
Family businesses with 2–15 family members involved, where succession has not been formally addressed
Typical Timeline
2–3 weeks from kick-off to report delivery
Best Suited For
Companies that feel decisions are slow, duplicated, or unclear in ownership — and want to understand why before attempting to fix it
Service 02
Decision Architecture Review
A study of how a company makes recurring decisions: which body owns which kinds of choices, how proposals are prepared, how disagreements are surfaced, and where decisions get recorded. The consultant interviews staff at multiple levels and produces a short report with observations.
The value here is not in recommending a particular governance model, but in producing an accurate description of how decisions actually happen — which often differs from how leadership believes they happen. The report typically surfaces specific friction points that the company can then address.
What Is Included
- Staff interviews across multiple levels (typically 6–10 people)
- Review of any existing decision-making documentation
- Short written report mapping decision types, owners, and observed gaps
- Closing session with leadership to present findings
Process Steps
Scoping conversation and identification of interview subjects
Individual interviews conducted over 1–2 days on-site
Analysis and mapping of decision flows as described
Drafting of observation report
Delivery and closing discussion with leadership team
Service 03
Quarterly Planning Facilitation
Independent facilitation for a leadership team's quarterly planning meeting. The work includes a pre-read template, a one-day or half-day session, and a written summary of decisions, owners, and open questions.
Most leadership teams run quarterly planning meetings without an external facilitator. The meeting often drifts: topics expand, decisions are not recorded clearly, and the same unresolved questions return next quarter. This service provides structure for the session and a clear written record of what was agreed.
What Is Included
- Pre-read template distributed to participants in advance
- One-day or half-day on-site facilitated session
- Written summary: decisions, owners, timelines, open questions
- Brief debrief with the team lead after session
Process Steps
Pre-session call with team lead to understand priorities and context
Pre-read template sent to all participants one week before session
On-site facilitation of the planning session
Written summary prepared and delivered within 2 business days
Typical Timeline
One week prep + session day + 2 days for summary
Best Suited For
Leadership teams of 3–10 people who want more structure and output from their regular planning cycles
