Ahmad Khairuddin
Managing Director · Klang Valley
The Strategy Refresh was the first time our family had sat down with an outside party to talk honestly about who was going to run the business after my father. It was not a comfortable process, but the document we received at the end gave us something concrete to work from. We have since started implementing parts of it.

CEO · Petaling Jaya
We had a feeling that decisions in the company were getting duplicated between two departments, but we could not pin down exactly where. The Decision Architecture Review confirmed what we suspected and also identified a few things we were not expecting. The report was direct and easy to act on — no management-speak.

We have tried quarterly planning sessions before but they always ended without a clear record of what was decided. Having someone there purely to facilitate — and then deliver a written summary within a couple of days — made a real difference to how the team followed up. We have used this service for three quarters now.

Co-Founder · Kuala Lumpur
I appreciated that the introductory call was genuinely exploratory. They told me the service might not be the right fit until we had talked through the specifics. That honesty made me more confident when we did proceed. The transition plan gave my business partner and me a framework for a conversation we had been avoiding for about two years.

General Manager · Subang Jaya
The fixed fee was a significant factor in our decision. We had spoken to a couple of other consultants who quoted hourly rates, and the final cost was unpredictable. Knowing the number before we agreed meant the internal approval process was straightforward. The work itself was thorough and the report was delivered ahead of schedule.

We used the Quarterly Planning Facilitation before our end-of-year review session. The pre-read template alone was useful — it forced each team member to prepare properly rather than arriving to discuss things they had not thought about. The summary document gave us a proper record we could reference in January.

Case Studies
Three engagements described in fuller detail. Identifying details changed at client request.
Case Study 01 · Strategy Refresh
A Manufacturing Firm Approaching the Second Generation
Challenge
A 25-year-old manufacturing company in the Klang Valley, owned by two brothers, had three adult children between them who were all working in different capacities within the business. Nobody had agreed on who would take which role long-term, and the ambiguity was beginning to affect staff morale and some supplier relationships.
What Sundara Did
Individual interviews were conducted with each of the five family members over two days. A written assessment of the current arrangement was prepared, identifying where ownership and management responsibilities were unclear or in tension. A draft transition plan was developed that proposed a structure for the following five years.
Outcome
The family used the document as a starting point for a series of structured discussions over the following three months. They amended several elements but retained the core framework. The engagement completed in four weeks at the stated fee. The family reported that having an external document made it easier to address points without it feeling like one member attacking another.
"It gave us a piece of paper to argue about rather than arguing about each other." — Director, Klang Valley manufacturing company
Case Study 02 · Decision Architecture
A Property Services Company With Slow Internal Decisions
Challenge
A 60-person property services firm in KL noticed that decisions about contractor approvals and procurement were consistently slow. The senior leadership believed the process was clear; the people actually doing the work described something quite different.
What Sundara Did
Eight interviews were conducted across four levels of the organisation. The observation report described the actual decision path for three recurring decision types, identified three points where accountability was unclear, and noted one approval loop that could be removed entirely without meaningful risk.
Outcome
The redundant approval stage was removed within two weeks of the report. Two of the three accountability gaps were addressed in the following quarter. The engagement took 16 days from the first interview to delivery of the final report.
"We thought the problem was people. The report suggested the problem was the process, which was a more useful conclusion." — CEO, property services company
Case Study 03 · Quarterly Facilitation
A Retail Group Formalising Its Planning Cycle
Challenge
A family-owned retail group with five outlets had been attempting quarterly planning meetings for two years. The meetings were inconsistent — sometimes two hours, sometimes half a day — and the output was usually a verbal agreement that became hard to track when people returned to their stores.
What Sundara Did
The pre-read template was adapted to the retail context and sent to the five participants a week ahead. A half-day session was facilitated on-site at their office in TTDI. The written summary was delivered 48 hours after the session, covering 12 decisions, their owners, and six open questions deferred to the following quarter.
Outcome
The company repeated the engagement for the following two quarters. The written summary became a reference document that team members checked against during the following months. The overall quarterly cycle stabilised at a half-day on a fixed date each quarter.
"We had tried this ourselves several times. Having someone whose only job was to keep the session on track made the difference." — Group Operations Manager
